- Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce — "Seiveright, Mastercard push greater digital payment adoption for growth of small businesses", 2 June 2026 (originally reported by Our Today). State Minister Delano Seiveright, speaking at Mastercard Day Jamaica 2026: approximately 422,000 registered micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), accounting for roughly 80 per cent of jobs in Jamaica and supporting more than 1.1 million workers.
- Jamaica Business Development Corporation survey findings, reported by the Jamaica Gleaner and the Jamaica Observer. 32.44 per cent of MSME respondents use digital technologies daily; a baseline study at the start of the Digital Jamaica project found 32 per cent of MSMEs comfortable using digital solutions, with usage concentrated in social media.
- World Bank, in coordination with the Inter-American Development Bank — Global Rapid Damage Estimation, 19 November 2025. Physical damage to Jamaica from Hurricane Melissa estimated at US$8.8 billion, equivalent to 41 per cent of the country's 2024 GDP, making it the costliest hurricane in Jamaica's recorded history.
